According to the Ocean Affairs Commission (OAC), six members of the Legislative Yuan’s Internal Affairs Committee (Parliament) visited the CSBS Kaohsiung Shipyard to inspect the construction progress of the second 4000-ton ship "Hsinchu (CG5002)", the Chiayi-class large-scale patrol ship.

Subsequently, members of the Legislative Council went to the CITIC Shipyard to participate in the "Freshwater (Danhui, CG603) delivery ceremony and Qijin (Qijin, CG605) launching ceremony".

The ceremony was presided over by Li Zhongwei, Minister of Ocean Affairs Commission, Zhou Meiwu, Deputy Minister of OAC and Director General of CGA. Guan Biling, legislator of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party, was invited to throw the bottle and wish the maritime police shipbuilding project a safe and smooth operation.

Qijin is the fourth ship of the Anping class, but its ship number is CG605. This is because the pronunciation of "4" in Chinese is similar to the pronunciation of "死", and people think 4 is an unlucky number.

The Taiwan Coast Guard and the Navy tend to avoid using 4 as the last digit of the hull number, but there are some exceptions.

The Anping-class patrol ship was built on the basis of an upgraded version of the Taiwan Navy’s Tuochang-class frigate. The Anping class can sail under a wind of class 9. Its maximum speed is 44 knots. This class of ships is equipped with 2.75-inch rockets, 20mm artillery, remote weapon stations and high-pressure water cannons with a range of 120 meters.

In wartime, Anping-class ships can install phalanx short-range weapon systems, Stinger surface-to-air missiles, and up to 16 Xiongfeng-II and Hisung Feng-III anti-ship missiles.

The Tuojiang-class frigate is designed to counter the Chinese navy ships through the tactics of hit-and-run, and is called "aircraft carrier killer" by some Taiwanese media. The prototype of this class was named and launched in 2014. The ROC Navy is planning to build 12 Tuojiang-class ships, and the project is scheduled to be completed in 2026.

The Tuojiang class is equipped with Xiongfeng-II and Haixing-III anti-ship missiles, OTO Melara 76mm main gun, and phalanx melee weapon system. The second and subsequent ships of this class have been upgraded and modified, and they are equipped with TC-2N surface-to-air missiles that the prototype does not have. The upgraded ship has a displacement of 685 tons, which is slightly larger than the 600-ton prototype ship.
