Gonzalez, the surprise rookie, had three hits and Cal Quantrill (12-5) won his eighth straight decision. Cleveland extended its lead in the American League Central to 1 1/2 games over the Chicago White Sox and 2 1/2 over Minnesota. Twins starter Dylan Bundy (8-7) surrendered season-highs with seven runs and 12 hits in 4 2/3 innings. The Twins have lost seven of nine.
In a stunning Beaux-Arts building that housed a bank in the early 20th century, Proenza Schouler designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough presented a collection they said was a mix of their personal histories. Water was a theme — chosen as a symbol of life, and illustrated with cascading waterfalls in video projections on the building's marble walls. The collection, which notably featured more skin-baring or sheer looks than the designers usually present, opened with a selection of crocheted and fringed looks, including two dresses with sheer, crocheted skirts and fringed bodices.

For some Republicans, eschewing debates is a chance to sidestep a media structure some in the party deride as biased and align with Donald Trump, who has blasted presidential debates. Some Democrats have pointed to raucous GOP debates from the primary season as a reason to avoid tangling with their opponents.

Hank Bachmeier threw three touchdown passes and Boise State rolled to a 31-14 victory over New Mexico in a Mountain West Conference opener. Bachmeier connected with Latrell Caples for an 18-yard score, capping an eight-play 91-yard drive, to give Boise State (1-1) a 7-0 lead 7 seconds into the second quarter. Jonah Dalmas added a 48-yard field goal for a 10-0 lead at the half. At the first Boise Pride Festivals roughly three decades ago, Joseph Kibbe and his friends had to hide their faces and were greeted by protesters holding nooses. Now the festival has grown dramatically, but a wave of political pressure and threats has Kibbe and other organizers feeling like the state is in a backslide. The opposition was sparked by an event dubbed “Drag Kids.” Organizers envisioned kids dressed in rainbow tutus lip-syncing to classic Pride anthems. But opponents including Idaho GOP chairwoman Dorothy Moon expected a lurid scene where children engaged in sexualized performances. Organizers have since postponed the Drag Kids event over safety concerns, but say it's important for LGBTQ youth to be represented at Pride.
